Okera Najuma Hill
Okera Najuma Hill is a talented 21-year-old female who is passionate about serving God. She began violin at age 6 and under the mentorship of Aunty Joy Knight Lynch she continues to explore the skill even today. She has participated in the Barbados National Youth Orchestra since entering The Combermere Secondary School in 2011, starting on violin and eventually transferring to the double bass. She is currently pursuing her law degree at the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus and intends to further her legal studies in Trinidad. She loves creativity and learning new concepts and ideas.
Making the decision 8 years ago to enroll our then 3-year-old daughter in the Joy Knight Music Program (JKM) has been one of the better decisions we
made for her to date. Joy and her experienced team of tutors are very dedicated and go above and beyond to ensure the success of all their students. We have seen our daughter’s development flourish from a timid to a confident violinist. The program has also helped her to become a well-rounded student. Ms. Joy Knight has been my daughter’s violin teacher since the age of three and a half.
